Stand Up and Play Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) 100% volunteer-based organization. The Stand Up and Play Foundation is composed of individuals who donate their time and efforts to make active standing therapy a reality for everyone with mobility challenges.

Golf as a therapy addresses the development of necessary coordination and the repetition of precise sequences of movements. Further, the mental challenges posed by the game stimulate one’s ability to focus and concentrate. Playing golf successfully raises a person’s self-esteem and vitality. Finally, golf is social and fun.

Our Mission

The mission of the stand up and play foundation is to provide wheelchair users and others with impaired mobility the opportunity to stand up and engage in recreational and everyday activities through access to VertaCats/paramobiles, clinics, and recreational programs. Our organization introduces the VertaCat/paramobile and other adaptive equipment to wheelchair users through clinics and demonstrations where we reinforce the mental and physical therapeutic benefits of standing. Our goal is to make VertaCats/paramobiles available to as many support organizations, rehab centers, golf courses, veterans groups and first responders and children individuals as possible.

The Stand Up and Play Foundation has a long history of supporting Veterans, First Responders and Children. In addition to providing wheelchair users and others with impaired mobility the opportunity to stand up and engage in recreational and everyday activities, the Stand Up and Play Foundation knows that many of our Veterans and Emergency Responders are also combating the issues related to post-traumatic stress, substance abuse (often related to PTSD), or chronic pain from their injuries.

In 2021, Rich O’Brien and Josh Swindle of the Lowcountry Chapter of the Stand Up and Play Foundation developed a groundbreaking Golf Therapy program designed to help Veterans and Emergency Responders who have suffered injuries, illnesses, or challenges whether they occurred in the line of duty or after serving and protecting. Over the past 18 months, the HERO program has grown into one of the largest adaptive golf programs in the country.

Accomplishing our mission requires traveling to potential sites, training volunteers, and purchasing supplies and equipment such as VertaCats/Paramobiles units, standing frames, adaptive sports equipment, and much more. Your financial support will help us form an adaptive sports chapter in your community or in an underserved community. We need your help to expand our current programs and to form new ones.

About Neaccessiblegolf Anthony Netto

A native of South Africa, 澳洲体彩幸运8开奖直播官网手机版 retired Military Veteran Anthony has become an international ambassador for challenged golf, and USGTF Master Golf Teaching Pro since 1999. He has been involved in 澳洲幸运8 Disabled golf across the globe. Today he resides in 开奖结果记录 the US where he spends much of his time training PGA professionals, rehab therapists and adaptive golf organizations on how to use golf as a therapy, while also serving as a consultant for handicapped golfers worldwide.

Motivated by his own challenges, Anthony co-invented the VertaCat/Paramobile all-terrain standing sports wheelchair in 2000 and founded the Stand Up and Play Foundation in 2010. He achieved another milestone in 2023 by co-founding and developing the VertaCat/Paramobile, a revolutionary adaptive golf cart.
The VertaCat/Paramobile empowers users to navigate the green independently and confidently, showcasing advanced precision technology. This innovative device not only offers mobility-challenged players the opportunity to refine their unique styles in the game but also contributes to their overall well-being, both physically and emotionally.
